چکیده
Abstract Background The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and clinical usefulness early oral feeding (EOF) after rectosigmoid resection with anastomosis for treatment primary ovarian cancer. Methods We performed a retrospective review all consecutive patients who had undergone ovarian, tubal, or peritoneal cancer between April 2012 March 2019 in single institution. Patient-related, disease-related, surgery-related data including incidence anastomotic leakage postoperative hospital stay were collected. EOF introduced as protocol September 2016. Liver resection for ovarian cancer liver metastases as part of cytoreductive surgery is safe and may bring survival benefit
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate whether hepatic resections of ovarian cancer liver metastases provide a benefit in terms of survival as part of primary, secondary, tertiary, and even quaternary cytoreductive surgery. METHODS Data of patients submitted to surgery for ovarian cancer liver metastases at Fundeni Clinical Institute between January 2002 and April 2014 were retrospe...
متن کاملCytoreductive surgery in ovarian cancer
As the overall prognosis for patients with ovarian cancer is poor, the management of this condition should be restricted to expert multi-disciplinary teams in gynaecological oncology. Apparent early stage ovarian cancer requires accurate and complete staging so that potential sites for metastases are not missed. Omitting adequate staging may have significant consequences including a negative im...
متن کاملSplenectomy during secondary cytoreductive surgery for epithelial ovarian cancer.
Splenic metastasis from ovarian cancer is unusual. Most splenic metastases are encountered in the setting of widespread visceral metastases. We present 6 cases of splenic metastasis of epithelial ovarian cancer. Three cases underwent a splenectomy as a part of interval debulking surgery, and the rest received a splenectomy as a surgery for recurrent disease. The splenectomies were well-tolerate...

متن کاملPrimary cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer: is it the past, present, or future?
Ovarian cancer accounts for more deaths in the United States than all other gynecologic malignancies combined. This is largely due to the fact that no effective screening test has been identified thus far to facilitate early detection. As a result, two-thirds of women continue to be diagnosed with advanced stage III or IV disease. Historically, the standard of care has consisted of primary cyto...
